After six weeks, Clark began working the phones and signed a Minor League deal with the Jays. … 3B Troy Glaus sat out with a sore hamstring. … SS Royce Clayton didn’t suffer a fracture after fouling a ball off his left foot on Tuesday. He was available in an emergency situation on Wednesday and is listed as day-to-day. … RHP Jamie Vermilyea was optioned to Triple-A and INF Ryan Roberts was designated for assignment to make room for Clark on the active and 40-man roster, respectively.

why didnt the jays just bring roberts back up? instead they go to the trouble of bringing up clark, a lifetime loser, when they could have brought up a young guy; now that he has been DFA he will have to go through waivers to stay with the team. This move doesnt make any sense to me

Jordan,

If both Halladay and Buerhle are on, what’s the over/under on the game time? 90 minutes tops?

I’m also disapointed in the Clark move. The guy I was hoping they’d bring up was Sergio Santos from AA.

He could be our long term SS. He is rated to have the best arm in the Jays organization and in 45 games for New Hampshire has hit 11 home runs and knocked in 29 while hitting .261.

He’s 24 years old and should have a future with us-whereas Clark is a has been and not going anywhere.

Clark is just up here for a cup of coffee until Glaus’ hammy heals. Roberts proved capable in the field but looked lost at the plate.
