I can guarantee no one is watching the game.

    It’s not on TV. 😉

Anyway, it was McDonald but it was nothing.

  2. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

Unfortunatly I have to watch all the games on gameday. (except when they are playing the yankees)

  3. harrypotter229@gmail.com

i’m saying what will u do with our out-feild situitation keep lind on the bench? too young and valuable to do that. Keep johnson? only lead-off guy if we don’t get eckstein? keep wells? 128 million gone down the drain + best CF out there keep rios? best jays player no way u can keep him on he bench.

so out of the 4 who do u keep on the bench and who do u play?

  4. harrypotter229@gmail.com

    i feel for u freedom

and they say that the game is on the rogers preview although it’s not last i checked

  5. robertlee13@rogers.com

    freedom fighter,

It’s too late for todays game, but in future if your interested you can go to http://www.fan590.com and click the “Listen Live” near the top of the page.

Technically they aren’t supposed to broadcast mlb games over the internet, so when the game comes on the “Listen live” doesn’t work.

BUT if you do it 15 min before the game starts it should work. Just make sure you don’t accidently close it.

  6. harrypotter229@gmail.com

and yes guys zaun threw someone out 3 cheers for him. Perhaps being outshown by a youngster really thought him and gave him strength

  7. robertlee13@rogers.com

Yeah, I didn’t realize until after the game that the blog started working again.

I parked myself on the couch and flipped between the game and Big Brother 8.

  8. harrypotter229@gmail.com

true if we win today and cleveland looses we switch spots with minnesota if we don’t then they get 2 games ahead of us

  9. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

For anyone who has seen Litsch on tv. Does he look anything like his picture does?

  10. robertlee13@rogers.com

I think that picture is a little old, he’s now something like 215lbs so, while he’s still babyfaced, he’s also a bit chubby.

  11. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

I just posted under better late than never then jordan post the lineup and already 23 post 10 by speedy harry good for you harry if you want to read my post back up one.

WHERE in gods name are the jays bats.

  12. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

Brings back memories of the last time we played the yankees. What was it, 13 players every game that we left on base?

  13. harrypotter229@gmail.com

“I just posted under better late than never then jordan post the lineup and already 23 post 10 by speedy harry”

is that supposed to be a compliment? i certainly hope so

i think we should trade for bedard too but seems like the o’s don’t wanna let him go

  14. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

Anyone know when Bedard becomes a free agent. And if it isn’t anytime soon, what are the oriols needs that we have?

  15. harrypotter229@gmail.com

stupid gibbons if we had wells instead of clark it would be 2 on none out with wells up

  16. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Zaun has throwen out two in a row the jays are now three for three in the last three atempts.

  17. robertlee13@rogers.com

Bedard’s an FA after 2009. But they wont trade him, even though they think he’ll leave, until after next year.

  18. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

HARRY read all my post I said “WAY TO GO HARRY”Dont be so defensive thats what started this blog war in the first place and what would I gain by insulting you.

  19. harrypotter229@gmail.com

sorry garry but it would be easier if you could catch my tone over the internet i didn’t mean to say that the way u wrote it it was a bit of a misunderstanding.

Nevertheless i also asked for this blog war to stop and don;t worry i won’t be the one to start another one and try my best to make sure no more start

  20. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Wow now thats the team we thought we had in the spring.

11 count them 11 runs in one inning that is awesom the kid with the baby face is going to win another one.

  21. gsumner@rogers.com

Great start for Jessie. I like how cool he is on the mound-I just wish he’d change how he wears his hat. lol

  22. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

more than 37.000 at the game today in the middle of the wk. how good is that Harry where did you go in fact where did everyone go.

  23. gsumner@rogers.com

    Nice win

show them no mercy. That’s what this team has been missing.

Boston have Beckett going tonight, so hopefully they beat Cleveland.

Then, Minnesota plays in Cleveland and hopefully we got them angry with the whipping they took today and they take it out on Cleveland.

We do have to depend on other teams helping us out, but our guys look like they’re getting on a run-so as I said this morning, it ain’t over yet

  24. harrypotter229@gmail.com

oh my god i can’t believe i missed an 11 RUN INNING i had to go out at top of fifth and just came back about 15 mins ago. Perhaps i’m badluck for the jays. oh well atleast we won. i gotta look at the box score first. and if beckett’s on boston will most likely win

  25. harrypotter229@gmail.com

guys i didn’t find out much from articles and stuff so if anyone of u can give me a detail by detail or even an overall summary of what went on int he 11th inning it would be geat.

i should have said i was leaving but it was unexpected

  26. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

The Jays are on a roll. Towers got the Jays rolling here. There pitching is out of this world right now. Obviously a team that has alot of mo right now. Goes to show you how well the Yankees are playing right now, Yankees took 3 last week from them. Jays are 6-1 since leaving N.Y.

  27. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

I really thought the Jays had no chance a week ago but there is hope here. All the Jays can do is win and then hope for the Yankees to cool down a bit. A long season and that is what makes it fun. Twins last year never led the division until the final day when it mattered. The Tigers went in the playoffs as wild card even though they led the whole way. Of course the Tigers went to the World Series so it didn’t effect them. 2 months of baseball and then some.

  28. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

    harrypotter

If you go you yahoo sports, and go to the bluejays, you should be able to find the box score and then you should be able to go to the sixth inning.

  29. harrypotter229@gmail.com

    thanks freedom
i went to the box score here however they didn’t give anything in deatail about 6th inning

bosox i disagree with you the jays still have games left vs the yanks and we can do more than hope the yanks cool down. We HAVE to defeat them and as a jays fan i tell u we will. Saying that it would certainly help if the yanks did cool down same with boston and cleveland and seattle.

  30. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Yankees are on fire right now. I think they are the team to beat for the wild card. If they win tonight they’ll be 12-3 since the break. Tough team to catch, there bats are alive and well.

  31. gsumner@rogers.com

    bosox

We’ll take care of the Yanks in our building. I’m disapointed Boston lost tonight-what can I say!!!!

  32. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Usually when those series happen, they both beat each other up. Sox and Yankees have 6 meetings left and they will probably split them. Jays have some solid pitching going right now and they might as well ride it.

  33. gsumner@rogers.com

Yes, our pitching and hitting is stronger every day as we get our walking wounded healthy and on line.

I do thank Boston for taking 2 of 3 from Cleveland-I thought you’d sweep them tho.

  34. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Final game in Cleveland tomm. night. Sox are off to my part of the woods for the weekend. Where the teams stay in St. Pete is right where I live. I have seen many players around the area, always funny to me. Sox and Yankees are in town the police are there when the players head off to the game. I will try to get Dice-K’s autograph. I hope. Just in case you are wondering they stay at The Vinoy, about 2 miles from the Trop.

  35. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Let’s hope the Sox bats are alive and well tomm night. They should put up 6 runs on the Tribe tomm. night.

  36. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

I am concerned obout the road trip comming up. Even if they are teams that the jays should beat, the jays are horrible away from home. Hey and how about boston getting shutout.

  37. indigo_t@hotmail.com

  38. indigo_t@hotmail.com

Nice game today too bad I couldn’t watch it , that work thing gets in the way . Harry I get the rogers preview station , its on 204 here . Have a good evening all and take care

  39. harrypotter229@gmail.com

i get the rogers preview channel too and people said that the game was on it but somehow it wasn’t. And my rogers preview is on 401.

  40. enigma_d17@hotmail.com

Mine’s also on 401 and I didn’t see a thing about the game being on it. PLease don’t tell me I could’ve watched it lol. Usually on the jays schedule it’ll say rogers preview just above the game. All it said yesterday was MLB.TV.

  41. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

    no game today to bad.

Not to manny trade rumors do any of you people have any ideas of what JP has to do to help this team at this stage, yes bosox I know he has to quit lol.

  42. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

gsumner or harry lets hear from you guys.

hey tower comeing soon to a ballpark near you “TOWER POWER” The team has won 5 out of his last 6 starts hard to beat that.

  43. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Jordan did you get a chance to ask JP about jesus merchan he is in the phillies -AA-club they had him up at-AAA- for a bit good BA and OBP and can steal bases he is a short stop.

  44. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

    garryguy,

I am going to try and not mention J.P. anymore. I have obviously beat that horse too many times on here.

  45. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

We only have three on the disabled list now all pitchers.

I see thompson for the Royals is on the disabled list again.

With most of our guys back and with Accardo as the closer and janssen and league as the setup men and a lot of luck we can get back in it the big key is the jays bats,I would have liked the jays to have spread those 11 runs over 3or4 innings,I like the big inning but I think it shows more balance if the team scores 1 or 2 runs in 5 or 6 innings anybody.

  46. gsumner@rogers.com

    Hey Garry

I spent some time taking a look at the club hitting stats for both last year and this year to date. Baseball is always a game of averages and statistics, since the teams play 162 games a year.

    Item 2006 2007

    BA .284 .260

    RBI’s 4.8/G 4.55/g

    Hr’s 1.23/g 1.16/g

    2base 2.15/g 2.05/g

    runs 4.99/g 4.73/g

The lower team ba has likely lead to the decline of the other numbers. However, when you look at the lineup this year versus 2006, you would assume the 2007 numbers would be better than 2006, since we added Thomas.

So, either we will see the team over perform in the next 61 games or we have a lot of players that are going to have an off year all at the same time. The odds of that happening is slim, and of course being the eternal optimist that I am, I prefer to think, we will over perform in the last 61 games to bring us closer to the game averages we had last year.

That being said, it could mean a strong finish to the season for the Jays, since to reach last years levels in the next 61 games, we’d likely have to overperform the to date numbers by 15%-20% per game-if that makes sense to you. An example would be runs per game, where to match last years total number, we’d have to produce an average of 5.43 runs oer game versus the 4.73 we’ve been averaging.

The next 4-5 weeks, we have afavorable schedule, so we could get right back into the race by the end of August.

  48. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

That is quite a difference but I think you are right if they perform like they were supposd to we can mahe it.

now how about this trade for mark grudzielanek I know he’s old but he can be had for cheap give them clayton and a -A- BALL PROSPECT he is a gutsy player put hill at short problem solved for two years by then someone in the minors should be ready like santos.

  49. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Schilling needs to shut his big mouth. He spoke about Bonds back in mid May while on his radio show in the morining. Francona from what you read basically told him to shut up. Obviously Schilling didn’t get the message. Usually when Schilling is yapping that means he is feeling good and healthy. Memo to Schilling, SHUT UP!!!!

Ed Wade the former Phillies g.m. has the best quote of all time about Schilling. He said when Schilling is pitching he is a horse and when he isn’t he is a horses a–. Great quote for sure and very true.

  50. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Grudzielanek would be a nice little move by the Jays. He is a veteran and can handle the bat pretty well.

  51. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Clayton to me is a solid defensive s.s. but no bat at all. He has always been that way his entire career. He has been around a long time.

  52. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

I don’t think we should make any trades this year. At shortstop, Mcdonald is starting to hit and collect a few rbis (4 in his last two games). And Johnson, I don’t know why you guys want to get rid of him because he is one of the best defensive outfielders in the games and one of the top leadoff guys. He can easily hit .300 with atleast 15 homers. If we really had to, I would say get another starting pitcher at the end of the season. But I don’t think we even have to do that with Gus, Litche and now Towers comming along.

By the way, does anyone know what we are going to do when Burnett and Gus get off the dl this year?

  53. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Burnett goes back in trade gus keep J.Mac as a utilty player I can’t see him hitting 15 home runs for the rest of his career and 300 BA only by a misprint.

just read shillings remarks what a big mouth maybe he’s on steroids remember I said maybe until Bonds is found guilty you have to give him the benefit of the doubt,Ithink he is a great playerand right now I am watching the game.

  54. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Schilling isn’t on steroids. He comments on just about everything. Why say anything if your Schilling? Last time he spoke about Bonds back in May he came across just as foolish. You ask Schilling about the fishing industry in Japan and he’ll have to comment on it.

  55. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Johnson is one of those players that you want on your team. I would love too see him in a Boston uniform, I like how he plays. He is a bit of a throwback to me, old school I guess.

  56. indigo_t@hotmail.com

I love Johnson , he is my favourite gamer. He is a great leadoff man and a real player . He loves the game and gives it his all . I think we should try to trade Chacin. He just seems to lack passion and I believe will be injury prone . We have Burnett atleast until 2008 so we have to make the best of it

  57. gsumner@rogers.com

    bosox

Shillings comments-to me were about as stupid as Gary Sheffield and Giambi’s. These guys all need to learn how to keep it shut.

  58. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

I think ever since Chacin got the D.U.I. down in Florida. He has been on the outs with the organzation, he could be trade bait during the winter. I guess we’ll see how the season ends for Chacin.

  59. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

    bosox.
your opinion on burnett if he can stay healthy where do you see him #2#3#4#5 starter remember I asked you if so please don’t say he can’t I just want your opinion mine is #4 no better.

  60. gsumner@rogers.com

Johnson plays the game the right way-full out on everything. He’s definatley a throw back-not many around.

Indigo, what would you think of Chacin in the pen. He’d be a nice coounter to come in after AJ Burnett or McGowan-with his herky jerky delivery, after seeing 95 mph gas.

  61. gsumner@rogers.com

Anyone watching the Giant/Atlanta game. San Fran’s pitcher Lincecum is someting else-talk about gas.

Man, would I like to see him in a BLue Jays uniform

  62. gsumner@rogers.com

ya-you’d think these vets would know better, wouldn’t you.

I don’t think they even realize how much they hurt the game, or maybe they don’t care-I don’t know.

  63. indigo_t@hotmail.com

I don’t think Janssen is a great starter . He doesn’t have the arsenal of pitches a starter needs . I do think he is great in the BP and could be a starter down the road with some work . Chacin lacks something as far as I am concerned maybe BP would be better though it might put too much stress on his shoulder . He could potentially pitch everyday not every 5 days . I just don’t see any passion in him for the game

  64. gsumner@rogers.com

Hey, the Boston games started. Bosox, make sure you beat those guys for us tonight. I’ll be back later

  65. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

When healthy Burnett would be a solid #3. Ramirez just hit a homerun that landed in Lake Erie, it was crushed.

  66. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

I think I like bosoxs idea of trading chacin in the winter put him in the pen as a long man if a starter goes down you still have him.

no homer for bonds yet to bad.

  67. gsumner@rogers.com

that HR Manny hit was closer to 500 ft than 400 ft. Man did he hit that.

    4-1 for Boston, go Boston.

  68. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

As I wrote earlier it landed in Lake Erie. Straight away center and it landed where the bushes are out there.

  69. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

I think the longest home run I saw was in toronto by josh phelps who now by the way is playing at first for pitsburg good for phelps.

  70. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Longest for me has to be the homer that Canseco hit off of Mike Flannagan back in the A.L.C.S. of 1989. That homer went to the top deck at Skydome. A missle for sure, steroids or no steroids that was a blast for the ages.

  71. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

It is always nice to see Wells struggle or read about his struggles. There are some guys in sports you root for and there are some that you do not. Obviously Wells is on the do not list.

  72. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Iforgot about Canseco I saw that to,

How about Biggio says i’m all done boys then hits a grand slam last night and another homer of wells tonight.

  73. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Canseco’s was over 500 feet, a rocket. Biggio will be a hall of famer for sure. Started his career as a catcher. Played 3 positions in his career and over 3,000 hits and all those years under his belt. He played the game the right way.

  74. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Everyone is welcomed, as long as they talk some baseball. I would think all agree.

  75. harrypotter229@gmail.com

sorry i haven’t posted for soo long. Just have been busy.

Wat were schillings comments i don’t know anything about them? Also where did ideas about trading mark grudzenik (don’t know how to spell his name) come from? Did J.P. say something or is it just for discussion purposes?

About longest hr in Toronto it was probably a tie between Canseco and Phelps they both hit em in the same or similar places. I think phelps might’ve hit it longer.

About johnson i want to keep him altough i am wondering if we might get something good in return for him in a trade.

Speaking of trade i don’t think J.P will make any trades before July 31 and i don’t think he should although when the offseason comes he’s gonna be busy (not like 2 years ago).

About the rotation if burnett is healthy and at the top of his game then he is a 2nd starter however otherwise he is a 3rd starter. Here is how i would shape the rotation after burnett and chacin come back

    halladay

    burnett

    mcgowan

    marcum

towers (has been on a roll lately?

    6th=litsch

7th= i don’t think will be needed however we can use someone new or chacin.

Although i believe that chacin should be traded and if we get something better for towers then towers but my first preference would be chacin. Man only if we could get bedard.

I think that the bats should step it up a notch for the next 61 games. However i might be wrong cause baseball is the most unpredictable sport.

and thanks robert for the link u posted for me to see the play by play.

Speaking of trade i don’t think J.P will make any trades before July 31 and i don’t think he should although when the offseason comes he’s gonna be busy (not like 2 years ago).

it’s supposed to be WILL NOT make any trades

  77. harrypotter229@gmail.com

yes i agree biggio is a hall-of-famer atleast i would want him to be with more than 3000 hits

  78. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

indigo your one of the guys now anyway you were before we new you were a girl so nothing has changed. What you are is a baseball fan and a Jays fan to boot.

  79. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

    harrypotter229,

Schilling in a interview with Bob Costas for the show Real Sports talked about Bonds on his steroid use. He also spoke about McGwire and how he acted in front of Congress. Once again Schilling opening his big mouth. Some stuff you comment on and other stuff you keep 50 miles away from it.

  80. ukgocats3@netscape.net

Jordan, has there been any more news on Towers to the Phillies? I’m also curious if we could get anything of value in return

  81. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Biggio is a first ballot hall of famer for sure. No doubt about it. If you have over 3,000 hits for a career, you are automatically in. Not even a discussion.

  82. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

I would assume the Jays in return for Towers would get a minor league prospect. Certainly his trade value is not high.

  83. harrypotter229@gmail.com

yes his trade value is not high however sometimes if it’s the right prospect then we might have a great player. Somewhat like alfredson from the senators who was a late draft pick and turned out to be a great player.

  84. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Jays will pick up 1/2 of a game tonight. The Tribe has 2 starting pitchers and after that nothing. Westbrook, Lee have been getting smoked this year. Paul Byrd you never know with the junk he throws, crafty for sure.

  85. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Mark was just a thought of mine I read somewhere he was on the tradeing block.

Biggio will make it in on the first ballot.

I don’t think they are going to trade Towers he’s pitchen to good right now and you can’t get any more than an -A- baller for him

  86. gsumner@rogers.com

    Harry

The way the Jays are playing DO NOT expect any trades. There’s no way JP is going to change the chemistry on this club when it’s starting to hum-ain’t happening.

And to be fair-although I don’t like him, Towers has pitched well, we’ve won his last 5 starts.

  87. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

I agree with you garryguy. You might as well keep Towers because of what you’ll get in return. He is throwing well so ride him until he becomes Josh Towers again. That is what I would do.

  88. gsumner@rogers.com

    Bosox

Watching the game, I thought Francona left your starter in too long. Gabbard is a good young pitcher and leaving him out there to fry, left Cleveland back into the game.

    What are your thoughts?

  89. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

    gsumner,

How about the Tribe tonight? They got lit up. Boston’s Gabbard took a 8 run lead into the inning and didn’t get out of the inning. Unreal!!! Gabbard can’t even get the win.

  90. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Not over yet but she is warming up for sure. If you listen close we might be able to here her. lol.

  91. gsumner@rogers.com

I feel sorry for Gabbard. I watched the game and felt Francona left him in too long. Young starters are fragile as you know.

Not the right decision, reminds me of some of the same decisions Gibby makes here.

  92. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

I think the only reason Francona left him in a little long is because of the big cushion they had. Gabbard did get the first out in the inning and after that he fell apart quick. Gabbard got rattled for sure. He almost was afraid to throw strikes at the end.

  93. gsumner@rogers.com

To me Francona’s decison to leave the kid in there gave Cleveland momentum.

This is not a team you give anything to, regardless of how far ahead you are-they acn come back and hammer you.

    They have the tools.

Shut them down and they give up. Francona’s decision gave them momentum and belive me-the games not over yet.

  94. harrypotter229@gmail.com

firstly i wasn’t expecting any trades and i said that in the huge post but i certainly do expect trades or signings this offseason and if we don’t do anything this offseason too it won’t be good for the jays.

secondly yes francona did leave gabbard too long although i guess it might be cause of the 8 run lead. Not having watched the game i’m mostly assuming.

thirdly who is 12 and who is 9?

fourthly u guys are correct that biggio should be a first ballot i don’t have much experince with hall of fame and i hardly know some players (haven’t been in this game too long, just got old enough to understand the game for what it is)

finally i don’t like the trade for mark mainly becuase i don’t want to see hill at ss. hill is a gold glove 2nd baseman why move him. Don’t underestimate defence.

  95. gsumner@rogers.com

    Bosox

I don’t think he could throw strikes-he lost it-and young pitchers do that. We’ve seen it here with McGowan.

These young pitchers need to be nutured-lol, like on a baby’s bottle.

He looks like a good one to me, all he needs is some TLC and time.

But, you don’t leave him out there to fry.

That’s what Gibby does here from time to time which really p****s me off. lol

  96. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Sox 12 Tribe 9. 8th inning and Ramriez homered just as I wrote this and the Sox now lead 14-9.

  97. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Okijima to me is the rookie of the year. I don’t think he’ll get it because of his professional background in Japan. Remember Matsui got robbed from that award because of his professional background, back in 2003.

  98. gsumner@rogers.com

well, whether he’s rookie of the year or not, doesn’t matter

What matters is, he’s one **** of a relief pitcher. Possibly the best 8th inning guy in baseball.

  99. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

The big difference from this year’s Red Sox team and last year is the guys before Papelbon. Last year he had nothing in front of him, not the case this year.

  100. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Okijima is great but he is not a rookie I don’t think it’s fair that someone can play professional ball in Japan or any where else and win rookie of the year in the MLB.

  101. gsumner@rogers.com

    Garry

Well, when our rookies come up from AA or AAA-they have played professional baseball. Our guys here start as professionals form rookie leagues.

    Not a lot of difference.

  102. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

I would rather see Willy Mo out there than Mrs. J.D. Drew. Pena I think will be traded. He needs to play everyday. He has such raw talent and is very strong.

  103. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Matsui got robbed of the rookie of the year back in 03 and the writers basically said because of his professional background in Japan. I’m on the fence about it. I can see the arguement on both sides.

  104. gsumner@rogers.com

    Bosox

Yep if Boston keep working on it, you might have a relieve corp as good as ours. lol

I’m kidding of course-Boston’s pen is as good as it gets right now.

  105. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Sox pen is the reason they’re in first place. If your trailing against Boston in the 7th and beyond, good luck in coming back. Those guys in the 7th and 8th are so important. The bridge to the closer as I like to say.

  106. gsumner@rogers.com

    bosox

I think you guys would make a mistake to trade willy-just play him. As you said your alternative is Nancy.

  107. gsumner@rogers.com

    Hey guys

I’m outta here, have a great evening. Thank you Boston for your help tonight. We will return the favor when the Yanks come here.

  108. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Nancy makes gulp 14 million and he has to play. That much money doesn’t watch games. Pena is raw but very inconsisent, give him a fastball and it will travel 450 feet. Give him something offspeed and he’ll be walking back to the bench.

  109. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

Boston helped us and themselvs K.S. is beating up on N.Y. now if only Oakland wins over seattle great night for us and we never ever played got to love that.

  110. bosoxbrian@tampabay.rr.com

Kansas City is beating up on the Yankees. 7-0. Yankees bats were silent. Royals are playing better as of late.

  111. harrypotter229@gmail.com

gary i feel sorry that noone answered but my guess is none.

and yesterday night i went down to watch the game so i wasn’t on my comp

  112. gsumner@rogers.com

The next 25 days will tell the tale

Thirteen of the next 16 games are against teams that are below .500, and after this 6 game road trip, they play 15 of the next 19 games at home, where their record is 31-20 this season.

  113. harrypotter229@gmail.com

certainly the next 19 games will be important and if the jays continue their pattern then i expect them to win ATLEAST 11 of the 19 games they play. And i believe to stay alive they MUST win 11 or more

  114. gsumner@rogers.com

They’re at the time of the year that staying close isn’t an option.

For them to have a realistic chance of a playoff position, they need to capitalize on this soft spot in their schedule.

I’d expect they need to win at least 15 of their next 25, and 20 of 25 would definately put them back in the race.

  115. harrypotter229@gmail.com

11 of 19 or 15 of 25 is basically the same thing and i agree that to even stay close/move up a bit this is the very least they could do to get real close in the race they need to win 15 of 19 or 20 of 25 like u said

  116. freedom_fighter1121@yahoo.com

Even with these below .500 teams that we are going to be playing, they are still away games. Also with these games against the White sox, they have their three best pitchers pitching.

  117. gsumner@rogers.com

Chacin was optioned to Syracuse today. It’s sort of a strange move to make, since he’s still rehabbing-so there was no need to make the move.

Unless there’s an intent to add someone to the 40 man roster and bring them up or they’ve aquired someone.

Interesting-but I’m sure the other shoe will drop soon.

  118. thegarryguy@shaw.ca

With Chacin sent down I would think he had a small setback so why not make room for someone else who may help this team at this time.

This site sure is nice to post on now that we made friends with bosoxbrian he knows his stuff .

Well one more hour to game tme can’t wait for “TOWER POWER” GO JAYS.
