NOTES: Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi said on Thursday that the Jays are leaning toward having LHP Gustavo Chacin undergo exploratory surgery on his throwing shoulder, which would effectively end the pitcher’s season. Chacin has been out since late April, and Ricciardi said the only throwing he might be doing from here on out is rehab work. Chacin would undergo surgery before the end of the year, and that would hopefully have him ready by Spring Training. … Toronto has only hit four homers in August — the lowest total in baseball. … The Jays have 39 doubles in August (second in baseball) and 258 on the year (first in the AL). Toronto also is riding a streak of 22 games with at least one double.

I just read about how the Rockies could be interested in Towers. That would be awesome, unload Towers — hey JP could ask for Kaz Matsui for SS, but in the end settle for the salary dump. Don’t know how the Rox’s stadium would help Towers homerun tendencies.

Hey Jordan, it was reported on ESPN.com that both Josh Towers and Troy Glaus were put on and cleared waivers in the last little while. Although Towers is not surprising, why did the Jays put Glaus on waivers? Thanks for your help!

Colorado announced today they had aquired Raomon Ortiz from Minnesota-so I think their deal is done. So I doubt whether they will be doing a deal for Towers.

No need for Johnson to try for third a grade school player could have read that one way to kill a rally.

That puke pitcher when he was in Toronto was no good he was paid a lot of money to pitch here and was a flop I have nouthing good to say about him.

McGowan is pitchen like a jerk tonight and you can bet the Jays bats will be quiet tonight just like the last 2 nights it’s almost like they don’t want to win.

Now I will shut the game off and go outside good luck to the rest of you.

Teams usually put players on waivers when they have no intention of trading them to disguise they guys they do want to trade.
