NOTES: The first 10,000 fans on Sunday received a Troy Glaus figurine, but got to watch Luna man third base. Simply a day off for Glaus, who has is in a 2-for-30 slump at the plate right now, and 0-for-his-last-11. … Also a day off for 1B Lyle Overbay, who is batting just .239 since coming off the DL on July 12. … This is the first appearance for both Luna (claimed off waivers on Friday) and Olmedo (contract purchased on Friday), who the Jays are looking at as potential utility players for next season. … Toronto is aiming for a sweep of Texas, which would bring the Jays’ home winning streak to eight games — the longest such run since 1999.

UPDATE: The wife and I went to see The Simpsons Movie last night, because the crowd to see Bourne Ulimatum was crazy, so we’ll see that one soon enough. I want to watch the first two Bourne movies I have at home again anyway. I laughed pretty hard at the Simpsons flick. It didn’t blow me away, but there were enough classic lines and scenes to make it worthwhile. It goes without saying that my dog will henceforth be known as "Harry Plopper."

Olmedo gets his first start hope he does okay same for Luma.

Three changes in the lineup today maybe to many.

Tell me why they brought up Thigpen they said he would play 2 or 3 times a week if they don’t give him a chance we will never know how good he is.

Well Jordan did you get your wish, did your wife choose Bourne or Homer.

P.S. My wife would baby me and choose Bourne.

Sorry Jordan should have read your post first nice name for your dog.

How does everybody like the big hurt now,I say it’s about time I guess the two days off did him wonders.

I watched the Giants vs Padres last night it was great to see Bonds get #755,last night.

Another outstanding outing from McGowan, who gets better and better each time out. Give this kid another 20 starts and watch out.

Outstanding stuff, at times totally overpowering. Don’t be surprised if next year he wins 17-20 games and carries an era close to 2.00.

Great game from Stairs as well that is going to cause a dilemma for next year. It’s nice to have Lind up here, but it’s just as nice to have Stairs. Can we carry 5 outfielders? Tough decisison.

gsumner how did you like Olemado and Luna today myself I thought they both played a good game Olemado had a nice double he showed a little power whitch was nice they played well on defence.

What to do with Stairs he’s like a kid again I think he can smell something.

The next three games will tell the tale if we can win the series it sure will help of course we will look for the sweep.

First things first-we need Boston to beat Seattle today, and then we’re only 5 back in the wild card.

Then we need to take care of the Yanks-minimum of 2 of 3.

If both things happen, we’re definately back in the race.

This series with Texas was huge. The problem with the Yank series is we have Litsche, Towers and then Halliday going. We need good starts from Litsche and Towers. We also need the bats to come alive in this series, because at the moment the Yanks are pounding it.

I re-watch Bourne Identity and Supremacy recently and they were as good as I remembered. Not many sequels that are just repackaged turned out as good as Supremacy did.

No doubt, this series with NY is crucial. The pitching match-up looks reasonable, especially Wang-Halladay, but yes, Towers and Litsch need to settle down and get the job done (especially Towers, as Clemens was tough last time). 5 games out of the WC – now that’s exciting. Let’s go Litsch! Let’s go Towers!

What a great last 10 days, it’s been to be a baseball fan.

Tom Glavin gets his 300th win.

Stray Rod gets his 500th HR

Barry Bonds matches Hank’s hr record.

And Frank Thomas cracks the top 20 in Hr’s.

well, hopefully we treat Clemens like Minnesota did. That will take some pressure off of Towers.

With Petite, we need Wells, Thomas and Glaus to have big games-they have hit well off of him in the past.

We need to get ahead early so both starters settle in.

So here’s hoping!
