NOTES: Pretty thin today, fans. Hector Luna was at Rogers Centre a day after being claimed off waivers by the Jays. Since July 16, the third baseman has hit just .129 in a span of 16 games. … Other than that, all’s quiet in T-town this afternoon.

The Jays bats should be loud this afternoon. Rangers have no pitching and they never do.

Jordan

What is the verdict, Simpson’s or Bourne?

Bosox,

Good call, 5-1 and the first isn’t even over yet. Marcum couldn’t have made better pitches in the top of the 1st…bad luck sometimes. nice to see the Jays come back quickly.

Jordan we are on pins and needles here the verdict please.

Howie Clark and Jason Smith three broken down pitchers and Redmon????.It’s been like a refugee camp for has-beens,Maybe this Luma pickup can be the utility player we have been looking for remember we have J.M. Hill and Butterfield to teach him and stop the Es.He has a good bat is average on base stealing can get better.

Watching this game they look like a new club,

But Marcum is not at his best looks like he is aming the ball also I would like to see Thigpen catch him.

It all depends on what ruling Mrs. Bastian has. I vote Bourne, but we’ll see what the wife has to say. To be continued…

Eek, 67 pitches for Marcum through 3…And a spot starter for the Rangers. Looks like we’re in for a battle of the bullpens shortly.

swagmanjay.
If it comes to a battle of the bullpens we have one of the best in the league so don’t frett.

I must be the only dumb guy here everyone else is out enjoying the long weekend and here I am on the blog.

Marcum was a little bit shakey today but the offence did a great job today to give him the win.

Finaly the real Frank Thomas came to play good for him.

A suicide squeeze by the jays wow I love that play but seldom see it.

Dont you just love small ball when it is put into play and works I would like to see the jays use it more I know it dosen’t allways work but it is exciting to watch.

Looks like Robinzon Diaz is liking AAA.

In his first 10 games, since being called up from New Hampshire-he’s hitting .343 with 1 hr and 7 rbi’s.

He should make a nice combination with Curtis Thigpen in a couple of years.

Hey gsumer thats good news about Diaz.
What do you think about the Luma pickup.

Garry

I’m not crazy about it-his defence appears to be really poor. what are your thoughts?

Sorry I have company as for Luma he can learn defence from some good guys at Toronto all we need him for is a good utility player with a good bat so I think he will be okay.

Congratulations to Barry Bonds for matching Hank’s home run record.

What a season Ted Lilly is having?

23 starts of which 17 have been quality; era of 3.53 and a 12-5 win-loss record. 145 innings pitched to date or an average of 6.3 per outing; 119 K’s.

Might be his best season ever.

It’s nice to see Ted Lilly having a good season with the Cubs. It always seemed like he was a pitcher better suited for the N.L.
