RIP George Steinbrenner. I just want to say that there are not any other owners/managers like how this guy was. Doing whatever it took to win a ball game and declaring to the public about how disappointed he was in losing one. That is by far my biggest disappointment in the Toronto organization. I have listened to multiple speeches and countless post game remarks and I have yet to encounter either Ted, J.P, Alex, or Cito say that they want to make this into a winning club. I have only heard Alex say that he hopes to be “competitive” in a few years. Nothing about winning. And Cito has no fire and is so laid back whether it be a loss or win. Something Steinbrenner fired his manager for.

I am sorry to say but the recent trade by AA in my opinion is a huge and terrible mistake. First off, we have more than enough depth at pitching and it doesn’t seem like jo-jo reyes will be able to compete in our rotation at all.
I am ok with trading Gonzalez, its ok we got escobar, he is young and can hit for average from the previous two years and is pretty solid defensively I think but why give up TIM COLLINS AND TYLER PASTORNICKY, I personally think Tim Collins could have been our closer for the future or atleast a solid bullpen guy. They are both only 21 years old, and collins has I believe a 16 strikeouts / 9 innings ratio for the past 2 seasons. his ERA has never been above 3.00 in the past 3 years. Too add on top of that Pastronicky, sure he wasn’t having the best season but he had some speed and I think he could some potential.
We not only gave up the best player but the best prospect in the deal to get in my opinon one decent player. I dont understand why this trade took place and I am sure we could have gotten escobar for much less.
